Geoff is a Principal of Douglas Partners with over 35 years' experience in geotechnical engineering consulting. Geoff graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Engineering (1980) and a Master of Engineering Science (1984). He commenced employment with DP in August 1994 after working for many years with Ove Arup and Partners in Australia and overseas.
Geoff has worked mainly in the Sydney office of Douglas Partners and has held several managerial positions including geotechnical section manager, office manager and corporate quality assurance manager.
In the twilight of his professional career, Geoff has 'retired to the backbenches' where he concentrates on project work and mentoring the young engineers. Geoff has vast experience in geotechnical investigations and consultancy in the greater Sydney region including many structures ranging from single storey to multi-storey with basements, civil projects including subdivisions, roads and bridges and expert witness work. Some of Geoff's major projects include the original Darling Harbour Exhibition and Convention Centre, some Sydney Olympic Games Projects, mine infilling of collapsing underground mines, Westfield Shopping Centres, large aged care facility at Paddington and major industrial subdivisions at Eastern Creek and Erskine Park.
