John is a geotechnical engineer with 40 years experience in geotechnical engineering, including mine subsidence, in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. He has been responsible for hundreds of investigations on a diverse range of projects, including mines, dams, roads, rail, heavy industrial, residential and commercial building projects. He has provided valued advice to clients from the pre-feasibility stage through investigation / design to the construction stage on projects such as the Greta Train Support Facility. Many years of submissions to, and liaison with, the Subsidence Advisory NSW has given him a sound appreciation of the role of the Subsidence Advisory NSW and its approach to protection of development over mined land.
John brings experience and knowledge of past coal mining and mine subsidence investigation, analyses and rectification works, in addition to a more general geotechnical understanding of project requirements and behaviour of embankments, cuts and foundations.
