Julie is a Principal of Douglas Partners and has almost 25 years geotechnical engineering experience, both locally and overseas. She commenced employment with DP in February 1994 after graduating from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) Degree. Julie took a four-year secondment to the USA in the late 1990s, gaining valuable international experience.
Julie has particular experience in projects which require multi-disciplinary input, such as geotechnical investigations which include contamination assessment, waste classification assessment and/or acid sulphate assessment scope components. This enables clients to have a single point of contact on complex cross-disciplinary projects.
Julie's client-focus sees her with many repeat clients who rely on her expertise to guide them through the various approvals and design processes. Clients appreciate her proactive and open communication through the life of a project.
Julie has a broad range of experience managing geotechnical investigations for projects including large scale residential developments, commercial developments, water infrastructure and many others. Her technical expertise ranges from residential footings and pavements to multi-story buildings with basement excavations, water pipelines and associated infrastructure, hospital expansions, commercial developments, recreational facilities and many more.
With extensive experience in the Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Port Stephens and Maitland local government areas, as well as other parts of the Hunter region and mid North coast, Julie’s knowledge of the geotechnical constraints and opportunities on a local level adds value to many projects.
