Michael is a graduate of UTS, UNSW, Imperial College and the University of London in study areas related to Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydrogeology and Project Economics. He has been employed by engineering organisations for over 50 years and has conducted numerous studies on geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology and landfill assessment and design.
Since joining Douglas Partners in 1981 Michael has been the project manager or project director on numerous geotechnical studies but he specialises in the integration between geotechnical investigation for geotechnical design, contamination assessment, groundwater flow, dewatering and waste management. He has extensive experience in road and heavy duty pavement design, especially in the behaviour of materials in their natural state or when blended with various stabilising/modifying agent. This broad range of experience and expertise is helpful in multi-disciplinary projects as Michael likes to satisfy all competing design priorities by a single ground investigation.
As he nears the end of his professional career, Michael is keen to pass on his knowledge and wealth of experienced to young engineers. He achieves this aim by assisting them managing projects which he acts as an expert advisor and peer reviewer.
