Paul Hutchinson is a Douglas Partners Associate, a senior geotechnical engineer with 26 years of experience and is a member of Engineers Australia. Paul has managed many geotechnical investigation and design projects in Australia since 2005, and previously in Hong Kong and the UK.
His WA experience includes many residential, commercial and industrial development projects, both in the Metropolitan area and the regions. These include several medium to high rise buildings (many with basements) in the Perth area, major commercial developments within Perth Airport, large subdivision developments in Perth, Swan Valley, Baldivis, and the Pilbara, several aged care facility expansions in the Metropolitan area, redevelopment of sports facilities such as Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre, Warwick Stadium, Albany Centennial Sports Precinct, Claremont Football Ground and the Perry Lakes athletics stadium, and business parks in Wangara, Kenwick, Maddington and Forrestfield.
Paul has been geotechnical lead on numerous road and pavement projects, including investigation for the duplication of Reid Highway in Carine and pavement studies in Wangara, Bibra Lake and Spearwood. He was lead geotechnical temporary works designer for the CityLink Tullamarine widening project in Melbourne.
Paul’s experience includes many mining infrastructure projects in the North-West, such as for the Roy Hill Project, projects for Atlas Iron at Mount Dove, Abydos, Wodgina and Mount Webber, and several port related projects for BHP.
He also has considerable experience in urban and rural water-related projects, having managed the geotechnical studies for numerous pipes and pump station projects.
