Laboratory Supervisor & Senior Laboratory Technician

The Roles

Douglas Partners is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor with experience in combustible content testing and Senior Soil Technicians for various roles to join our Wollongong Laboratory. You will work closely with our Laboratory Manager and senior staff and will be trained to perform soil, aggregate and concrete testing in accordance with relevant national and state standards. The position consists of hands-on testing, analytical assessment on data and or the preparation of test reports.

Laboratory Supervisor - Combustible Content testing

The successful candidates will possess:

  • Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in a laboratory supervisor role or hold the skills to be able to manage a team
  • Experience in combustible content testing or other analytical laboratory testing;
  • Current Australian manual drivers licence – essential
  • OH&S Induction card;
  • Excellent communication skills, motivation and commitment to deliver work to the highest standard will be highly regarded.
  • Exceptional record keeping and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
  • Previous NATA signatory experience would be an advantage.
  • An understanding of QA processes – highly regarded
  • Relevant tertiary education (Diploma, degree etc)

Senior Laboratory Technician

The successful candidates will possess:

  • Experience working in a soil laboratory environment – highly regarded
  • a high level of initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm and be a team player.
  • excellent communication skills, motivation and commitment to deliver work to the highest standard will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in Level 1 Earthworks supervision to AS3798 and Level 2 Earthworks testing;
  • A solid understanding of Australian and RMS Standards for soil, aggregate and concrete testing;
  • A current Nuclear Gauge Licence;
  • Experience in earthworks operations;
  • Current Australian OH&S Induction card;
  • a manual drivers license – essential.
