Occupational Hygienist / Asbestos Assessor

West Ryde, NSW

About the Role

Due to continued growth and a corporate strategy to further increase our market share in this area, we are seeking an enterprising Occupational Hygienist and/or Asbestos Assessor, with 5 to 8 years’ experience, for our West Ryde office. Candidates with lesser experience but a ‘can do’ attitude will also be considered.

The successful candidate will generally possess the following attributes:

  • Qualified and trained occupational hygienist and/or licenced asbestos assessor.
  • Must have a reasonable level of post graduate experience in the field.
  • Familiar with the WHS Regulation and is a “competent person” for the purposes of undertaking asbestos monitoring, clearances and associated work.
  • Be enterprising and have a proven ability to grow market share and client base.
  • Prepare tenders, undertake and report on Hazmat / asbestos clearance and monitoring works.
  • Ability to write technical reports of high quality.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Be willing to work in contaminated land assessment as required by business needs.

About the Candidate

The successful applicant will have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to excel in a team environment. You will be a keen learner with a positive, can-do attitude. You must also enjoy working outdoors and be comfortable working independently in remote and rural locations. The applicant must also hold a current valid full driver licence (Class C).

Education/Qualifications

  • Professional qualifications in Environmental Science / Occupational Hygiene or equivalent.
  • Asbestos Assessor license highly regarded.
