Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

Kunda Park, Sunshine Coast, QLD

What the role is

Our Sunshine Coast office is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. In this role you will complement our consulting group so that projects continue to run efficiently and effectively, thus ultimately maintaining clients’ satisfaction while developing your geotechnical consulting skills.

Your role will include (but not limited to):

  • Conducting field investigation work, including logging of boreholes and test pits, carrying out construction inspections and in-situ testing to assess ground conditions using ‘best practice’ methods;
  • Assisting with co-ordinating subcontractors (such as drilling rigs, CPT rigs, service locators, etc) for field work, and be responsible for successful completion of the work within allotted timeframes and budgets;
  • Scheduling laboratory testing;
  • Using Slope/W and other specialised software to carry out analyses;
  • Adhering to relevant Work Health and Safety requirements;
  • Preparing proposals by scoping investigations to target project outcomes and client requirements; and
  • Assisting with report writing.

 

Given the variety of project work available throughout the year, there is a mix of fieldwork and office-based time. While most work is local to the Sunshine Coast, occasional short-term travel to other sites across Australia may be required.

About You

Bachelor Degree in:

  • Engineering – Civil or Geotechnical

 

Other criteria

  • Australian driver’s licence;
  • General construction induction training card (white card)
  • Enjoy working onsite and in the office;
  • Interest in continued learning and building your career in the geotechnical / environmental / groundwater and earthworks in the civil field.
