Trainee & Experienced Soil Technician

Coffs Harbour, NSW

What the role is

We’re looking for a Trainee or Experienced Soil Technician to join our Coffs Harbour team. Whether you’re new to the industry or already have experience in construction materials testing, this is a great opportunity to contribute to vital infrastructure projects across the region.

This is a hands-on, practical role that will see you working both on construction sites and in our laboratory.

Depending on your level of experience, you’ll be involved in:

  • Conducting soil testing on site and in the lab;
  • Accurately recording and reporting data in accordance with Australian Standards;
  • Supporting geotechnical investigations for major infrastructure projects;
  • Collaborating with skilled technicians, engineers and project teams.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, practical work, is dependable and loves learning by doing. No prior experience is needed, just a good attitude and a willingness to follow procedures with care. For experienced applicants, there are opportunities to step into more advanced work, mentoring or reporting responsibilities.

 

About you

Whether you’re starting out or stepping up, you’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy hands-on, practical work and don’t mind getting a little dirty;
  • Are a team player with a strong work ethic and good attention to detail;
  • Are safety-conscious, dependable, and proactive;
  • Can follow procedures accurately and consistently;
  • Hold a current Australian driver’s licence;
  • Hold a White Card and/or Nuclear Gauge licence – highly regarded, but we can help you obtain these if needed.
  • Previous experience in a soils or concrete lab, construction or civil field testing is highly desirable for experienced applicants.

 

Training and Development

  • On the job training with experienced mentors;
