80 staff members participated in The Push-Up Challenge 2021. Together they helped shine spotlight on the number of lives lost to suicide and to raise awareness and funds for mental health.
Each participant was set the challenge to complete 3318 push-ups in 25 days, between June 1-25. The goal of 3318 was anything but an arbitrary figure, as it represented the number of lives lost to suicide in 2019.
This was a big challenge for the team but also a motivator to devote more time for their physical health, learn more about mental health, connect and create awareness for the cause, and most importantly to raise funds.
So, with every muscle extension and flexion, our DP champions worked hard to achieve these great results:
193,045 total push-ups completed and $3183 raised for the Push for Better Foundation.
In addition to this, Douglas Partners will proudly match the $3183 raised by the challenge participants, bringing the total amount raised from the DP community to $6366.
As a people-centered business, Douglas Partners recognises that the mental health of its people, and of the whole community, is just as important as keeping physically safe.
All funds were raised for the Push for Better Foundation which aims to engage and educate people in mental and physical health and raise awareness of the mental health issues affecting everyday Australians. Their focus is on the prevention and early intervention of depression, anxiety and suicide.
